Why You Should Choose James Hardie Fiber Cement Siding
Fiber cement siding is the best option on the market. Compared to wood, vinyl or engineered wood, the results are impressive. Here’s why:
James Hardie Fiber Cement Siding is over five times thicker than vinyl siding, producing a more elegant look on homes.
Fiber cement siding is noncombustible and more durable, unlike vinyl siding that melts and cracks under the elements.
Compared to wood siding, fiber cement siding resists the effects of moisture and mold. It also withstands weather damage allowing it to hold its shape longer.
Humidity, freezing, and pests all pose threats to engineered wood siding, however, fiber cement siding resists the damaging effects that these threats can cause.

We initially met a few years prior to finally coming to an agreement. They had an older home in Edwardsville’s historic St. Louis Street District. A few years after our initial proposal, the city of Edwardsville cited them for the poor condition of their siding (which was flaking, peeling, and rotted in some areas). We ended up replacing all windows with Beechworth Windows and a full James Hardie Historic Renovation utilizing historic window trim surrounds and a 5” lap reveal. HB&G ProCast recessed columns topped off the renovations on the front porch.
